Requests for Partnerships for Olney Days 2025
To further our mission of supporting nonprofits serving the Olney area, we are requesting partnerships with nonprofit groups that can help us have the best Olney Days Party in the Park possible.
There are various jobs that need a coordinated group to complete the task, and in return, a donation will be made to the group. Below are the jobs and applications and the donations start at $1,000 (unrestricted). Olney Civic Fund will support the group in the planning stages in order to have a successful event. Please contact us if you have any questions. All applications are due January 31, 2025 with decisions made at the end of February 2025.

Waste Management
Olney Days Party in the Park will be held in Olney Manor Park on Saturday, May 3, 2025 which expects approximately 8000 people. To reduce our carbon footprint, we are striving to be a zero waste event in which waste is either recycled or composted. This means the waste stream needs to be sorted before it is "thrown away."
Olney Civic Fund (OCF) envisions that an organization from the Olney area with ample volunteers and adult leadership will respond. On the day of the event, the organization will have the leadership structure and sufficient youth and adults to execute supervision of 9 waste stations with no additional support from OCF. Before Olney Days weekend, an OCF representative will walk the site with the organization's leadership to review the supplies, location of waste collection sites, and discussion of how to sort the waste stream.
After the event, trash throughout the park must be picked up and all trash and recycling containers must be taken to the Shady Grove Transfer Station.
A donation of $2,000 will be made from Olney Civic Fund to the recipient organization for your participation in this event.

Games
Olney Days Party in the Park needs activities for middle and high school students. Olney Civic Fund is seeking proposals for activity/games for this age group. In the past groups have rented carnival style games (e.g. whack a mole) and charged per play. For the past two years groups have run Minute to Win It style games. In this scenario, participants purchase a wrist band for unlimited play of 15-20 different games. Each game lasts one minute which is what makes them challenging. Click here to see the games in action. The unlimited play wristbands give participants the ability to practice by playing the games over and over until they figure out the trick (or get lucky) and win in one minute.
If a group wishes to run Minute to Win It games, Olney Civic Fund can provide the game materials and instruction on how to play each prior Olney Days Party in the Park. A group would need a minimum of 20 student volunteers and 5 adults to run the games at the event (May 3, 2025 from 2:30 – 8:30). If a group wished to propose a different activity/games then a description and number of people needed should be in the response.
The ideal partner will have a large group of volunteers to run the games and in exchange will share in the revenue earned (keep the first $1,000 after expenses and then 50/50 share above $1,000)

Tent Management
Olney Days Party in the Park will be held in Olney Manor Park on Saturday, May 3, 2025 and there are 13 tents that are needed to be picked up from storage in Olney, delivered to Olney Manor Park, set up, take down, and returned after the event. Tents range from 13x13 feet pop up tents to one 18x40 feet pole tent. The organization will need to provide a pickup/moving truck to move the tent collection and the weights. Olney Civic Fund will provide training sessions to learn how to set up and take down each tent. A donation of $2,000 will be made to the group.
