The Olney Civic Fund's
First Annual Olney Golf Classic
The Olney Golf Classic was founded in 2016 to support and promote the purpose and goals of the Olney Civic Fund (OCF) via a collaborative effort between Fund members, support organizations, businesses and residents of Greater Olney. By way of an enjoyable, interactive, fun-filled event, the Olney Golf Classic serves as an annual venue for friendly interaction, social recognition and spirited competition for participating golfers and residents of our beloved community. Funds raised from the 2017 golf outing will be used to help finance Olney Days; to provide grants to local non-profit and other local Olney organizations and events that benefit Olney’s residents; and to support local area Olney students attending Olney Adventist Preparatory School.
The Olney Civic Fund (OCF) was established in June 2013, with the support of the Greater Olney Civic Association (GOCA), for a two-fold purpose: (1) to raise public awareness of Olney charitable, educational, civic, and cultural activities; (2) to raise funds to support Olney charitable projects; non-profit and other organizations; and civic events. The OCF's annual Olney Days event is a celebratory platform for meeting these objectives. With the addition of the Olney Golf Classic, the OCF is also furthering its promotion of its lofty goals.
Our event Partner and beneficiary, the Olney Adventist Preparatory School, was founded in 1997 and offers a Kindergarten through Eighth Grade curriculum. Their vision is to holistically educate children in mind, body and spirit. The school motto is “Above and Beyond”, treating children as individuals academically, spiritually, socially and physically. The school is a key part of the greater Olney community.
