Volunteering isn’t all work and no play — especially at Olney Days!
As an adult volunteer, you’ll enjoy some great perks:
• 🎉 An invitation to the Olney Days Kick-Off Party on April 18
• 🎊 An invitation to the Wrap-Up Party on May 9
• 👕 A really cool Olney Days t-shirt
• 🍺 A free drink ticket to use at Party in the Park (beer, wine, or water!)
And remember — volunteering is always more fun with friends. Invite someone to sign up with you and make it even better!

Light Up Toy Sales Lead
Set up and lead adults and students with sales

Welcome people to Party in the Park and collect any voluntary donations

Sell tickets, oversee ~ 5 student volunteers

Banner Installer
Hang banners on stage/tents at Party in the Park

Banner Uninstaller
Take down and roll up banners used at Party in the Park

Food Truck Director
Assist food trucks to their location
12:00 - 2:30 pm on May 2
Potato Giveaway
Assist with distribution of 10 pound bags of potatoes
10:00 - 2:00 on April 26
Deal Me In Partner
Work with Barbara to implement this new fundraising program.
Involves re-supplying the participating restaurants with cards, collecting cards, determining winner
Flexible times - Month of April
Social Media Olney Days Content Creator
Work with Olney Days Coordinators to determine posts and what can be used to create the content.
Monitor comments/questions on Instagram and Facebook
Flexible times - most work done March and April leading up to Olney Days
Opportunities outside of Olney Days:
Olney Civic Fund Board Member
Board of Director members oversee the mission, sets policies, and approves the budget. The board meets monthly (virtually). Looking for strategic thinkers, folks with knowledge of insurance, accounting, and/or the law, and those who want to make Olney the best place to live.
Olney Civic Fund Fundraising Committee
Reach out to current and potential sponsors and share sponsor benefits
Follow up with confirmed sponsors to be sure they receive their benefits (e.g. delivering decals, parking passes)
Write thank you notes
Secure raffles for various events
Time Commitment varies depending on role within the committee
Olney Civic Fund Business and Community Relations Committee
Event planning (Olney Days, Olney Barrel Aged Beer Event, It's Olney Time, etc.)
Maintain database of sponsors, volunteers, and non-profit organizations
Work with other committees to create a newsletter to send to database contacts
Time Commitment varies depending on role within the committee
Olney Civic Fund Gifting Committee
Review grant applications
Make recommendations to the Board for funding
Follow up on grant recipients regarding use of grant money
Time Commitment varies depending on role within the committee.
Primary time needed is January - March each year
