Bikes For the World
Oakdale Church is partnering with Olney Civic Fund for the Olney Days weekend. They are collecting bikes to ship to a village in Sierra Leone that was severely impacted years ago by an outbreak of Ebola right before COVID. Many children were orphaned and they are now teens and young adults. In that village if you have a bike then you can get a job or go to school. The trailer that the we fill with bikes will go to this village.
In addition to bike donations, monetary donations are needed to cover the cost of shipping (need a total of $7,000). Donations can be sent by check payable to Oakdale Church with Bikes for the World in the memo line (3425 Emory Church Rd, Olney, MD 20832) or click here to make an online donation. Once you are on that page, make a one time donation to "Missions - Specific" and indicate in the Note that this is for "Bikes for the World". Thank you.
Donated bikes can be dropped off on Sunday, May 4th in Oakdale’s front parking lot adjacent to Georgia Ave. Click here for more information about the Bikes for the World program.
